What I’ve Learned From Launching Bubbles & Biz Podcast

Hey ya’ll!! It’s been a hot minute since my last blog and I’m sorry! This summer has been nuts with kids, family visiting and work. It’s been great, but I am so ready for fall because it’s my favorite season! Things slow down, the leaves are so beautiful and football 🙂

The other thing that has had me a bit busier than I anticipated is the podcast that I launched in July. It has been SO fun! And inspiring. And terrifying. And messy.

You see, I didn’t really think it would become much of anything. I’ve been sitting on this idea for over 2 years and when I put it out into the world, people responded! Which is AWESOME, but I just wasn’t quite ready for it.

Which leads me to my first point. You’re never going to be ready. Whether it’s starting a new business, a new yoga class, a podcast, a new career – anything really. So just start anyway! You will figure it out along the way- I promise!

I know I get caught up in overthinking everything that I paralyze myself from ever really starting. It’s super scary to start something new. I can’t tell you how terrified I was the first few times recording the podcast. I don’t even answer the phone when people call- seriously. But now it’s something I look forward to each week! I love connecting with other business owners and hearing about their journey! We share our fears, tips, wins and laughs- lots of laughs! It really is such a cool community that I am so excited to be a part of it!

Seriously, I knew nothing about hosting, editing or managing a podcast and it’s not super sleek like some (most) you see on itunes, but that’s ok. I’ll get there. What I’m more concerned about is creating a community where we can support each other and share valuable information to help each other grow!

Piggybacking #1, I quickly realized how important certain systems and processes are when you start something like this! I am currently booked with guests through December (still amazed at this!) so I have to be super organized and accountable so that I can manage everything from getting them a bottle of champagne in time for the podcast, the date/time for recording because we’re all busy, the online Zoom meeting link and then the follow-up link & collateral they can use to share it. It’s a lot of work, but having those in place has helped tremendously! The more you can be organized, the more time you’ll save. I’m totally not perfect at this, sometimes it comes down to the wire on certain aspects, but I’m learning as I go 🙂

People Are So Strong & Inspiring

I’ve had the privilege of talking with some amazing women over the past two months and I can tell you people are so strong and inspiring!

Alana Dawson suffered a Pulmonary Embolism and realized we’re not guaranteed tomorrow, so why not start now. Keleigh Lauermann was fired from her job on the spot when she gave notice so decided to give herself 6 months to start + grow her dream business. Sarah Darby beat non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma at age 23 then went on to grow an amazing business employing 30+ people. Jessica Lim Liwag ended up with $10K in medical debt from an abusive relationship while in college and ended up creating a 6 figure business just a few short years after.  Those are just a few- all the ladies have incredible stories!

Seriously, y’all, we’re all so strong and can accomplish so much. If you’d like some inspiration, tips and laughs, listen here! New episodes come out each Tuesday 🙂
